Pamela Hastings has been making dolls and doing all varieties of art work since she was five years old...a very long time! She has taught doll making in person, online, and through her books all over the world, where her book: DOLL MAKING AS A TRANSFORMATIVE PROCESS--featuring Rosie Rojas--is used as a reference in Art Therapy Schools.
Starting from Edith Flack Ackley costume dolls as a teenager, moving into paper dolls as an art form, combining painting, drawing, and sculpture techniques, Pamela's art dolls now combine mixed media fiber, found objects, painting, beading, and are less and less realistic, raising the question, when do dolls become sculpture and vice versa. All of the pieces are recognizable as figures.
Pamela's path is to work with art, words, women, and healing, delighting in the creativity that we all possess and helping others to discover their gifts in the process.
